New Date's at Maxwell's

Sporting a typically older crowd, one of my favorite, yet interstate, venues has these tickets on sale: 5/6 Bobby Bare Jr. and 6/23 New Pornographers.

The Brooklyn New Pornographers show is at the very larger (2-3000 people?) Prospect Park venue... but admission is typically so minimal, it's a "donation." Hopefully TMBG will continue to do their annual show there. That's always a fun one.

Pinback on Tour

Pinback is going to hit Irving Plaza on Tuesday May 24th. I haven't heard their latest album, but I've heard good things about it. Get all Pre-sale Tickets here.

Oh... and Bobby Bare Jr. too!

I almost forgot to mention that Bobby Bare Jr. is also playing that same week… in that very same venue. Convenient? If you live in LES, it is. I, however, live in Brooklyn and will be commuting. There are probably no advance tickets sales since there weren’t any last time (01-28-05). Boy he tours a lot.

I know I’ve seen him live twice this year already, and that I could technically (techniquely) see him at the Sasquatch Festival, but A. I can’t get enough and B. I’ll be busy with the other artists at Sasquatch. If you haven’t seen him, go. If you haven’t heard of him, buy his albums. Spin named it one of the top ten albums you probably missed in 2004 or something like that. His first album is a little better. Pitchfork didn’t even review either. Fancy that. And if the albums are too Alt-Country (alla early Wilco), don’t worry… Live he cranks up the volume and rocks.

Oh, and it’ll be 05-05-05. What better way to celebrate than with Bare Jr.?

LCD Soldout? Oh well... they're coming back.

As reported in Pitchfork today, LCD Soundsystem will hit Webster Hall (cringe) on June 10... but without M.I.A. I guess. I wonder why?
