Chris Martin To Play Single Song for £5,000
Chris Martin is not one to sit second chair to his peers. Not Radiohead, not U2, and defintely not those damn Strokes. While Julian Casablancas and the Strokes played a brief two songs last Friday , Chris Martin plans to play only one.
"The Coldplay frontman has confirmed he will play an exclusive one-song gig in the living room of a child at the Canonbury Primary School in North London."
The performace was auctioned for £5,000 and proceeds go to charity (yadda yadda yadda), but I'm wondering if Martin's going to cave in. It takes guts to show up at a little kid's house, play only one song, and then call it a wrap.
Bonus points if that song is "Stairway to Heaven."
Or maybe he'll sing the one that got axed from Nelly Furtado's album:
"Three days ago the order came through to remove it from her album. I don't know if Chris knows yet, but when he finds out he'll be furious."

I take issue with the use of the word "peers" when mentioning Radiohead and U2. More like "artists he rips off -- to ill effect." (But I like Parachutes.)
good point. in this instance I intend it on a scalar level of selling out MSG etc.
Your point is taken, good sir.
blog fight!
I hear he's to do a stirring rendition of "Itsy Bitsy Spider."
A real challenge to make that one boring, but if anyone can pull it off, it's Martin.
itsy bitsy? i heard it was going to be a cover of tapes n tapes.
10 bucks says Rocco, the school bully, will barge in mid-song and scream "FREEBIRD" before retreating to eat paste in a shady corner.
