Also on the line up for the Saturday show at the Mercury Lounge is a new band called Hymns. The go on at 8:30 so if anyone who is going to that show, they should come down early and check them out.

Im hoping everyone goes to the oh no oh my show tonight so i can get into the grates show. As for the 30th you cant beat gastkets + birdmonster.
what are we doing?? we're waiting for your review of the final fantasy show, that's what we're doing. some of us live vicariously through you new yorkers, so come on, give it up!
The Grates already delivered here, once. That's why I show up for the 8pm bands.
Opening for Walkmen at Warsaw is Richard Swift, and it's killing me that I'm going to miss him.

and yes, grates have played here, and I did read good reviews. but they haven't delivered for me. for ME. [I dont even know whaat they sing/play]
to add to the insanity on thursday there is also Beg Yr Pardon 3 (at Midway instead of Delancey this time) with DraculazombieUSA, the Pussy Pirates (from ann arbor), Apples Apples (from Ontario), and Man in Gray. DJ's The Obsessive Compulsive (from the Friction parties).

I saw The Grates at SXSW and they did indeed rule. Missed their NYC show since I was already in Austin for SXSWi and SXSWf.

what do you think the chances of the grates show selling out by 8pm if i cant get there before then
i would have thought 2% chance, but now everyone has me paranoid. how big are the grates?
I really like the grates CD but im not sure how popular they are. A few blogs have this show at the top of their list for tonight like you do, so im starting to worry.
BTW, your Wednesday is undernourished. There's Dr. John, fo' free, plus two shows from Petra Haden, plus O'Death's last week at Pete's Candy Store.
"Ramesh" should be another one of Norah Jones' punk bands.
