Flashy Python rare performace next week; CYHSY Demos

"Flashy himself doesn't like to perform so we don't perform. we work on music that is a bit more inaccesible than some of my other projects. We may put something out eventually but I can't say I'm ever sure of what Flashy is thinking." -Alec Ounsworth, last year.
Alec Ounsworth, CEO of CYHSY, is playing a few shows next week, one in Philadelphia, and two in NYC under his monkier Flashy Python. Who is this "Flashy" guy who refuses to be himself flashy?

I've seen Ounsworth solo and with the Pelican Picnic, so I am interested in seeing what this brings.

06.20.06 Philadelphia, PA @ World Cafe Live Tix
06.21.06: New York, NY @ Joe's Pub; 7:30pm & 9:30pm. Tix.

For completists and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah fans, Hifi Popcorn has some early demos I havent seen elsewhere.

They're also part of the Arthur Lee benefit at the Beacon Theater with Robert Plant, etc.

The shows at Joe's pub were so awesome -- I am gushing --
Flashy Python is the same as Pelican Picnic -- Alec just likes to play with names I think. Matt Sutton and Ruth Keating from the Malarkies are great as part of Alec's ensemble...
